About Cathy
Raised in a family where service to your community was an expectation, Burghardt-Jesson has spent a lifetime living up to those values and giving back to the people around her.
First elected to municipal council in 2010 as the Deputy Mayor of Lucan Biddulph, Cathy Burghardt-Jesson has passionately served the residents of her community for well over a decade. Since 2014, Burghardt-Jesson has served as Mayor of Lucan Biddulph, and between the years of 2014 and 2023, she fought to further the well-being of families in rural Ontario as a Councillor and the Warden of Middlesex County. She now continues her service to Middlesex County as Deputy Warden.
A former small business owner, Burghardt-Jesson understands the importance of the rural economy and has seen first-hand how Doug Ford continues to fail rural communities.
I am thrilled to join Bonnie Crombie’s team and look forward to getting to work on day one to be the strong partner that rural Ontario deserves.

People I Have Worked With
HERE IS WHAT
THEY ARE SAYING
I have had the privilege of knowing Cathy Burghardt Jesson through my involvement with Lucan Minor Hockey, when she was serving as the past president when I joined the executive. Cathy is not only passionate but also highly knowledgeable, always taking the time to understand the rules and regulations to make well-informed tough decisions. Her level-headed approach and dedication to doing the hard but fair work have consistently ended with positive results for our community and beyond. She played a role in successfully bringing the 2008 World Under 17 tournament to Lucan and surrounding areas, showcasing our community on a global stage. Additionally, her enthusiastic support and cheerleading during the Hockeyville event in 2018 further demonstrated her commitment to celebrating and promoting local initiatives. Beyond her contributions to hockey, Cathy has been instrumental in shining a spotlight on our small farming community. She has tirelessly advocated for the rural lifestyle, highlighting its many virtues and showcasing the beauty of living in a close-knit community. In summary, Cathy Burghardt Jesson is a dedicated, knowledgeable, and results-driven leader who is deeply committed to our community. I wholeheartedly endorse Cathy and believe she will continue to make a significant impact on our community at a higher level of government.
